Yarrow is sometimes referred to as Knight's Milfoil and it gets this name because of the scientific name "millefolium" which means "a thousand leaves" and for the fact that it was used in Achilles' military to help with treating soldiers wounds. 

Knight's Milfoil is a terrific tool for protection, particularly against physical harm. It can also be carried to give courage. Traditionally, it would be placed under a pillow will allow the sleeper to dream of his or her future spouse. Drinking a tea made of it assists with psychic and intuitive opening. Newlyweds can use Knights Milfoil flowers or drink a tea to ensure a happy marriage.

Caution: Knight's Milfoil/Yarrow should not be ingested by pregnant women. It can sometimes cause skin irritation in those who are sensitive.

A few suggested magical uses:

• Add a pinch along with Master of the Woods and Master Root to a red flannel bag to create a self-confidence mojo.
• Sprinkle on top of a Protection candle to add extra power.
• Mix with Sage and Dragon’s Blood resin and burn on a charcoal as a powerful protection incense.
• Dress a yellow beeswax candle in Crucible of Courage oil and roll in the herb for confidence building before important events.
• Make a tea of the herb and add Dandelion Root and Star Anise for opening intuition and psychic awareness.
