In this immersive Zoom workshop, we’ll meet the Rusalky, alluring and ambiguous water spirits whose stories flow through Ukrainian and Slavic folklore. Discover their connections to rivers, lakes, trees, fields, seasonal rites, and the untamed power of the natural world. Can’t make it live? A recording will be sent to all who register.

Rusalky resist simple classification. They nourish crops, dance beneath moonlit trees, and bless the land. We’ll follow their changing image through folk belief and seasonal custom, looking beyond the modern mermaid stereotype to understand the awe and mystery they inspire.
