In this immersive Zoom workshop, we’ll unravel the myths surrounding Baba Yaga, the enigmatic forest witch and crone spirit of Slavic folklore. Often portrayed simply as a frightening ogre, Baba Yaga is far more complex than the legends suggest. Discover her deep connection to the natural world, her role as a guardian of the forest, and the fierce wisdom she offers to those willing to approach her with courage and respect. Baba Yaga dwells at the edge of the known world, in a hut that turns on chicken legs behind a fence of bones. She may test, challenge, threaten, or assist the heroes who enter her forest. In this workshop, we’ll look beyond the familiar fairy-tale image to explore Baba Yaga as a powerful spirit of wilderness, transformation, fate, and initiation—and consider what her stories can teach modern magical practitioners.

• Who Is Baba Yaga? Explore her origins and role in Slavic folklore, and uncover her true story beyond the myths.
