Long before poppets became a familiar image in popular culture, magical practitioners were crafting figures from cloth, wax, clay, roots, paper, and other materials to focus their intentions. A thoughtfully made poppet can serve as a powerful point of connection for healing, protection, prosperity, attraction, uncrossing, and other forms of spellwork. In this workshop, we’ll move beyond the stereotypes and study the practical foundations of poppet magic from creation through completion.

What You’ll Learn:

• Foundations and Ethics: Understand the principles of sympathetic magic, the history of magical figures, and the ethical considerations that guide responsible poppet work.
• Choosing the Right Form: Explore cloth, wax, clay, paper, roots, and other materials, and learn how to select a form that supports your intention.
• Creating the Magical Link: Learn how names, petitions, personal concerns, herbs, curios, colors, and symbols establish a clear connection between the poppet and its purpose.
• Awakening and Empowering: Discover methods for naming, dressing, activating, and breathing spiritual life into your poppet.
• Working the Poppet: Practice techniques for healing, protection, prosperity, attraction, uncrossing, and other focused magical goals.
• Tending and Releasing: Learn how to feed, store, maintain, deactivate, and respectfully dispose of a poppet when the work is finished.
